The DAP NRG series consists of lightweight full-range loudspeakers with 8” to 15” woofers and subwoofers with 12” to 18” drivers, available in <a target=”_blank” href=https://www.highlite.com/en/catalogsearch/result/?q=nrg&item_status=10%2C12%2C15%2C8&category_uid=MTU0>passive</a> and active versions. The series is designed for mobile DJ applications or permanent installations in small to medium-sized venues. All NRG speakers use robust but lightweight plywood enclosures, double-angled pole mounts and M10 fly points on the full range speakers, M20 adapters on the subwoofers, a professional-grade wear-resistant polyurea coating and rugged connectors to deliver great sound quality at a very competitive price.

The active range of NRG series is surprisingly lightweight, as the amplifiers use modern class D technology and switched-mode power supplies. The built-in Bluetooth 5.0 receiver offers TWS (True Wireless Stereo) to quickly set up a wireless stereo system. The crossover filters are implemented in the internal DSP and include presets for optimised frequency and phase-optimised for top/sub combinations with all NRG models. The best way to get a great sound and high output is to use a top and a sub from the NRG range!

The DAP NRG-18SA is an active subwoofer with a peak power of 1000 watts (500 watts continuous RMS). It uses an 18” woofer with a dual 3” voice coil to deliver bass down to 45 Hertz (-6 dB). It has enough power to comfortably produce up to 122 dB. It has an internal DSP with 4 useful modes for integration with a full-range NRG speaker or a customisable crossover frequency. The internal class D amplifier has a switched-mode power supply to keep the weight down and efficiency level up. The internal DSP also provides protection against overload, short circuit and thermal protection. Two XLR combo jacks accept the audio signal, which is looped through to two XLR outputs for driving a full-range speaker or an additional subwoofer.

The rugged, lightweight plywood enclosure has an M20 threaded insert for mounting a speaker pole. To get the most out of the NRG-18SA, we recommend using it in combination with a full-range speaker from the NRG range.
